Great Lakes 2006 (Prepare the Way Ministries)
This journey was conceived and led by James Nesbit of Prepare the Way Ministries. James had perceived the darkness over the Great Lakes fueled in part by demonic strongholds associated with water spirits. With the approval and blessing of the Global Apostolic Prayer Network, he set out to pray for the region with a ten person traveling team supported by a base camp in Marion Illinois.
The team prayed at the following locations:
Lake Michigan
Wilmette Illinois, Gillson Park - The Chicago Marathon kept us from starting in Chicago. This is where the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal connects with Lake Michigan.
Zion Illinois - We met here with 25 local intercessors. This is the town founded on Christ developed by John Alexander Dowie.
Milwaukee Wisconsin, Veteran’s Park - Interceded for the city of Milwaukee and for Lake Michigan
Lakeshore Brewery - Prayed against water spirits associated with addiction
Potawatomie Casino - Prayed against greed and addiction
Manitowoc Wisconsin - This was an unscheduled stop - prayed here because Manitowoc means “spirit land” which is appropriate because of breweries
Green Bay Wisconsin. Fox River mouth - Prayed here for the spiritual purification of Lake Michigan
Oneida Reservation - Prayed for salvations and breakthrough
Lambeau Field (home of the Green Bay Packers football team) - Prayed at the Oneida Gate to the stadium
Lake Superior
Duluth Minnesota, Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center - Prayed and worshipped on Federal property
Superior, Wisconsin, Harbor View Park - Prayed with intercessory leaders here
Superior Wisconsin Oil of Joy Fellowship - This was a place where we discerned intercessors from Duluth needed to come and bless Superior
Apostle Islands Wisconsin - Unscheduled stop, but praying here fulfilled a word from Chuck Pierce that intercessors from Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan needed to come here and pray to release the awakening north wind and God’s apostolic government
Bad River Reservation Wisconsin - Prayed and blessed the people of the reservation
Marquette Michigan, Lighthouse - Met and prayed with local pastor and wife at the lighthouse
Munising Michigan - Communion and prayers for Lake Superior
Sault Ste Marie Michigan, Chippewa County Courthouse - Met and prayed for the governmental structures here,
Anishinabek Burial Ground - Along the canal, prayed to dismantle old gates and establish new ones
St Mary’s River Canal Park - Prayed and received communion
Sault Ste Marie Ontario - Worshipped and received communion
Lake Huron
Mackinaw Bridge, Upper Peninsula - Prayed for the unity of the two peninsulas, two swans swimming multiplied to 3 then 5 then 7
Mackinaw Bridge, Lower Peninsula - Prayed to purify Lake Huron
Bay City Michigan, Sunset Shores on the Saginaw River and Bay - Prayed with other intercessors across from a power plant
Detroit Michigan, Riverside Park on the Detroit River - Prayed along the river at the site of two boulders for mercy and truth and for apostolic government
Dearborn Michigan, City Hall - Prayed to change the city atmosphere
Port Huron Michigan - Experienced intense wind and rain
Sarnia, Ontario - prayed for the United States and Canada during our prayer time
Lake Ontario
Toronto Ontario, Lake Ontario - Prayed for an open heaven
Kingston Ontario, MacDonald Memorial Park - Worked near the lake and on a very cloudy night the clouds cleared in a circle of about one mile radius above our worship
St Lawrence Seaway, Gananoque, Ontario - High winds caused frogs to be expelled from the water and die on the land
Intersection of Oswego and Erie Canals - Water flowed in the opposite direction it appeared to flow
Niagara Falls, Rainbow House of Prayer - Worship and fellowship with the team - provided by this ministry of the End Time Handmaidens and Servants
Niagara Falls, Three Sisters Islands Bridge - This was a very strategic place where the oil of intercession became fire over the waters through our prayers
Niagara Falls, Ontario - We had a time of distrust and disunity among the team which led to a time of talking out and repentance and strengthening
Welland, Ontario, Welland Canal - This is a shipping lane that bypasses Niagara Falls and thus was also an important place of intercession
Niagara Falls was perceived to be a place of power in North America, the place of “the neck which turns the head of our nation”
Lake Erie
Buffalo New York, LaSalle Park - The water was churned up from the storm over the past several days. However, we felt that this time and place represented peace and victory.
Erie Pennsylvania, Presque Isle State Park - This was a time of rejoicing and beautiful weather and giving thanks
Cleveland Ohio, Edgewater Park - Again, this was a time of tranquility as we met and prayed with a pastor couple here
Toledo Ohio, Maumee Bay State Park - This was a place of pollution and there were multiple power plants here. We also found a large Indian mound where we planted a stake.
Gary Indiana, Marquette Park Beach - With Indiana intercessors, a word was released from a dream about underground fault lines and we prayed for the correction of these fault lines. At the end of our prayers the clouds were aligned in the shape of a cross
Chicago Illinois, Chicago River - The Chicago River is extended here by the Sanitary and Ship Canal which allows the Mississippi River system to connect with the Great Lakes. We blessed the city of Chicago and the connection with the rest of the country.
Chicago Illinois, Grant Park, Buckingham Fountain - The entire fountain is designed to represent all of Lake Michigan, with sea serpents, etc. This was a perfect place to represent our prayer initiative to cleanse the lakes from the demonic structures that had been in place.
Great Lakes Prayer Journey 2006
Duluth Minnesota Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center
The Lord emphasized the need of the greater in men’s eyes (Duluth) blessing the lesser (Superior)
Apostle Islands
This stop was added in accordance with a prophetic decree from Chuck Pierce that if a team would go to the Apostle Islands it would release a spiritual wind to cleanse the Great Lakes. In fact, after that stop was inserted into the journey, the wind blew powerfully for the next several days as Chuck had prophesied
Sault Ste Marie Ontario
This was a location of breakthrough for Ontario and Canada.
Mackinaw Bridge - Seven Swans
This was the sixth prayer stop of the day with communion. There were 3 swans on the water here that miraculously multiplied into first 5 and then 7. It felt like the Lord emphasized his power to do miracles when we trust him completely in our communion with him.
St Lawrence Seaway with Prayer Team
After several days of strong north winds and very cold temperatures, the wind felt gail force here. The word prophesied by Chuck Pierce was that there would be a strong north wind that would be cleansing over the Great Lakes region. At this location, frogs started emerging from the water and dying which seemed emblematic to us of spirits getting expelled from the region!

Lake Erie Presque Isle
The weather and our prayer time here were delightful!

California Crossing Over 2007
Our prophetic prayer organization, which we have named the Special Services Division, comes together for strategic prayer journeys. We are members of various ministries in Texas, Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, and New Jersey. Our previous journeys together were the River Flush USA, the Cumberland River, and a short journey to Nashville the two days prior to The Call. We feel we have been given an assignment to serve the Body of Christ in intercession on the waterways and the territories of this nation and the world, at the Lord’s direction.
This journey was initiated when leaders from the The Call (7/7/07), announced The Cause and God’s Summer of Real Love Tour, which was to culminate in San Francisco on August 11, 2007. We felt that we were to intersect with that tour and, in agreement with its purpose, release prayers throughout California to repent for the release of the past 40 years living according to the spirit of Baal, and to rededicate the land to following God’s Holy Spirit.
We felt that the New Age spirit was particularly strong along the California coast. Therefore our journey plan was to proceed up the southern California coast from the border with Mexico to San Francisco, cross over San Francisco Bay and then proceed up the Sacramento River through the state capital to the headwaters near Mount Shasta. After conducting our research, we included a trip just north of San Francisco along the Russian River to address the spirits behind Bohemian Grove in Monte Rio and the gay resorts in Guerneville.
We called this journey “Crossing Over,” for several reasons. On June 7, 2007, a day Chuck Pierce had prophesied would be “crossing over” day, 40 years after Israel took back Jerusalem, we had an encounter with the Lord on our own “crossing over” a dry lake bed on the Cumberland River, when we were approached by a young man named Benjamin. Our prayers and interactions with him revealed God’s sovereignty in leading a new generation to cross over into their own Promised Land.
For the last 40 years, strong delusions propagated from the coasts have been governing America. In this journey, we were now crossing over from the Heartland, releasing prophetic fire from the Heart to the Coast. We were crossing over to the “Crossing Over” state, as California was named by the Lord in the 50-State Tour of Chuck Pierce and Dutch Sheets.
Our journey in California was to cross over from south to north, and from the ocean to the river. We were to help California to cease traveling on a false “bridge over troubled waters” of humanism, occultism, and pantheism and “cross over” to the blood-covered worship of Jesus Christ. And the Lord promised us that we would be “crossing over” into a new level of authority and assignment as a result of this journey.
Our journey consisted of the following prayer stops:
San Diego, Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial Cross - we prayed here for our journey which was to begin the next day and were able to minister to a young man
San Diego Border Field Park - We prayed at the beach where it meets the border with Mexico. We prayed our entire journey would line up with God’s will.
Solana Beach (33rd Parallel) - We prayed in alignment with prayers that members of our team had released back home where Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas meet, near the 33rd Parallel. We also broke off the power of Freemasonry which contains 33 degrees from California
Encinitas, Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Garden - This Eastern Meditation center founded by Swami Yogananda is representative of the spiritual orientation all along the West Coast especially in California. This is a powerfully deceptive “peaceful” location, beautifully landscaped. We prayed that the shallow peach found here would be displaced by the peace that Jesus brings which is beyond human understanding.
Santa Monica, Santa Monica Beach - In the evening we prayed at the St Monica statue breaking off religious and demonic spirits. An earthquake in the Spirit was perceived, and that night a physical earthquake was experienced at this location. The next morning one of us we prayed down at the beach and smashed a watch to set us free from the planning of man.
Venice Beach - We perceived her a vortex in the spirit that may explain the occult alignments that happen at this location, including Satan worship. James prayed at a jetty on the ocean to take authority over that vortex and release the goodness of God
Burbank, Johnny Carson Park (renamed Jesus Christ Park) - This beautiful park is surrounded by major studios, so we prayed here for the cleansing of the entertainment industry. Also, we witnessed a patient from an adjacent medical facility performed a gymnastics routine in front of us. As a result, we let go of our seriousness and relaxed and trusted the Lord.
Morrow Bay, Morrow Rock - Prayed at this volcanic rock formation that all idolatrous worship agreements would be removed
Big Sur, Esalen Institute - Prayed for the Human Potential movement celebrated at Esalen to be displaced by worship of the true God Jesus
Monterey, County Fairgrounds - The Monterey Pop Festival of 1967 was the first large public festival and it heralded the Summer of Love that introduced rebellion against God during the turbulent 60s. We repented for the turning away from God and invited for God to move on this generation and lead us back to him
Santa Cruz, University of California, Student Union - We prayed for revival on college campuses and for the healing of trauma for Vietnam veterans who gather in this area
San Francisco Golden Gate Park, Sharon Meadow - This was the original target for our journey. We joined many who traveled by bus from city to city repenting for the Summer of Love celebrated in 1967 which was a time of rebellion against God, instead celebrating a return to God in 2007 for the Summer of God’s Love.
Golden Gate Bridge - We walked across the bridge both ways praying against the spirit of death and suicide and blessing what many call the Western Gate of our nation
San Francisco Financial District - We prayed for godly men to raise up and guide the finances of our nation
Berkeley, University of California, Sather Gate - At a place still known for resistance to authority, we repented for the wild 60s and invited God to take possession of this icon of higher learning
San Francisco, North Beach, Washington Square - In this location of alternate life styles, we prayed for God to bring his will and ways to the people
Muir Woods, Cathedral Grove/Bohemian Grove - It was in this woods the United Nations was founded. Redwood groves are deeply worshipful places, and it was Sunday, so our team began to sing. All the others who were in the grove left with our worship. Next to this was Bohemian Grove which was dedicated to New Age worship, which we replaced with our worship. We experienced the presence of angels with this worship.
Muir Woods Ocean Overlook - This overlook provides spectacular views of the ocean. Here we prayed for the entire California coast north and south of here.
Bodega Bay - Alfred Hitchcock’s move, The Birds, was filmed here, and was the beginning of causing our modern minds to be increasing distrustful of the natural world. So we prayed here for a restoration of trust in the Lord in nature.
Jenner, Mouth of Russian River - We prayed here for the alternate lifestyle locations all along this river
Guerneville, Russian River, Bohemian Grove - Bohemian Grove was a secret society for the rich and famous and politically powerful, including ex-presidents. Their rituals were both secret and defiling and we prayed here for God to forgive and disband this organization
Collinsville, Mouth of Sacramento - We received permission from a home owner named Salvatore to pray on his property in Collinsville. Here we prayed blessings on all the land and people touched by the Sacramento River.
Sacramento, Confluence of Sacramento River and American River - We prayed here for the Lord to release “walking on water” type of faith
Red Bluff, William B Ide Adobe State Monument - In 1948, Ide was president of the California Republic until the U.S. declared war on Mexico, after which California became part of the U.S. until it was made a state. Ide was a Mormon and provided a false religious foundation for the state. We prayed here powerful prayers to release the false foundation for the state.
Redding, Bethel Church, House of Prayer - This was a location for our spiritual replenishment. Bethel Church had become a leading force for revival. At this beautiful house of prayer, we released beautiful prayers for our journey. We were able also to both pray for and receive prayer from students at the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.
Mt Shasta, Mt Shasta City Park, Headwaters of the Sacramento River - Several people allowed us to pray for them in this park, including an older man who believed that several younger men wanted to beat him up because he was critical of them. Here we prayed for both the aging population and the disaffected youth in California
Mt Shasta, Upper Flanks of Mt Shasta - We released prayers over the state and this region from the highest points. Our journey had begun with a cross at Mt Soledad and ended here with a cross we constructed from wood planks that were found on the slope.

Bless Arkansas 2007
Bless Arkansas Rivers and Prayer Locations
This prayer initiative was led by James Nesbit of Prepare the Way Ministries. It completed the set of prayer initiatives undertaken during the critical year of 2007 in support of The Call - The River Flush USA, the Cumberland River Prayer Journey, and the California Crossing Over Prayer Journey. This one resulted from the request of Ruby Green, then a newly appointed prayer leader for Arkansas. Ruby asked the question, how can I find out what my state needs, who I have in position already to help, and how to move forward. James Nesbit felt the answer was for the prayer network to help jumpstart the process for Ruby, and Ruby was humble enough to received the help.
This led to the Bless Arkansas initiative, which was carried out in October 2007 and it consisted of the following components:
October 14-19 was reserved for a time of activation, deployment, and debriefing
An invitation to the known intercessors and prayer leaders within Arkansas to take a key role
A second invitation to the prayer leaders from the neighboring states and some who were experienced in carrying out large prayer actions
An identification of prayer targets and issues throughout the state that we wanted to cover in prayer and assess through our action
Around 75 intercessors took part in the overall action with another 15-20 joining some of the intercessory actions. Ruby Green welcomed the people and James Nesbit described the plan and purpose. Apostle Jim Chosa provided the equipping teaching and over authority from the national prayer network. At the end of the seminar, thirteen teams were sent out and given specific locations and issues as their prayer assignments, and a base team was assigned to provide prayer covering. At the conclusion of the prayer assignments, many of the participants gathered for another day and a half to report and debrief.
This was a very powerful prayer initiative because of the bringing together in agreement so many diverse elements both to serve and to be unified together. Some of the statements that came out of the initiative were:
“As intercessors, we are no longer isolated and alone”
“Arkansas is important, and the rest of the nation cares about us”
“We are rich in spiritual gifts”
“We are a strong cord with many ties”
“We have a new song and a new sound”
“We will serve one another and no one will dominate”
“We are an army and have an effective strategy for victory”
Northeastern 2008
Capital Region 2008
Four Cities - 2011
This journey was undertaken in May 2011 with Richard and Darlene Tittle and Jim and Taffy Spaloss. The Lord described four cities - San Francisco, Denver, Kansas City, and St Louis - that needed to be cleansed before he could visit them with revival.
The strategy was twofold - 1) Pray geographically around the city, repenting for sin, and 2) Pray at known idolatrous locations - cults and false religions.
Four Cities Map
Our instructions were to pray in San Francisco, Denver, Kansas City, and St Louis. We also visited Fulton Missouri between Kansas City and St Louis.
We prayed primarily in a clockwise direction around San Francisco, beginning near the Bay Briidge: The stops were:
- Rincon Park - Cupid's Span
- The India Basin near Hunter's Point
- Crocker Amazon Park
- Fort Funstone - a well known hang gliding venue on the coast.
- USS San Francisco Memorial Park - overlooking the Golden Gate
- Crissy Field - on the bay
- The San Francisco Vedanta Temple
- Twin Peaks
We also prayed in Berkeley at:
- Berkeley Hall of Science
- Berkeley Vedanta Temple
Cupid's Span - San Francisco Rincon Park
We felt that God was showing that there was an arrow of revival heading east from the west coast. Our first prayer location in San Francisco was the Embarcadero. On approaching it, to our amazement, we saw this huge sculpture of an arrow in the ground. And it's right at the foot of the Bay Bridge, which the way east from the West Coast. We prayed here that God's love would be manifest for San Francisco, and that people would receive it, but also that revival would sweep across the nation.
Berkeley California - Vedanta Society Prayer Garden
We visited the Vedanta Temple in Berkeley that Richard used to attend in his college years. Answering the door was a young swami (teacher) who was caring for the aging leader of this temple who is quite ill. This man allowed us to go into the inner meditation garden, where we had communion. After we looked through the inside of the temple, the swami allowed us to pray for him and prophecy over him
Our final prayer location in San Francisco was at the gate of Chinatown. Gates are strong spiritual places so we prayed at this one that Jesus himself would enter this gate and become the king over Chinatown.
Mike Bickle prayer leading at IHOP-KC
Our first experience at IHOP in Kansas City was a true pleasure. Mike Bickle was prayer leader and Misty Edwards was worship leader. IHOP-KC has been a huge influence on our church and the Shore House of Prayer.
Denver Capitol Building - Statue of Indian and Buffalo
Again, we were celebrating the arrow of revival. However, this statue was honoring the plains Indians relationship with buffalo. This also right across the street from the grand masonic lodge. The spiritual atmosphere in Denver was not good, so we prayed for it to change.
St Louis Hindu Temple
An important part of this journey was to pray at locations devoted to other religions. In each city, we prayed at Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Mormon, Masonic, and cult locations. In every case, we invited the Holy Spirit to come and lead people from darkness to light, from falsehood to truth, from bondage to freedom.
Idaho 2013
This journey was conducted in July 2013. Our traveling team was composed of Richard and Darlene Tittle, Jim and Taffy Spaloss, and Ria Mignano from Shore Vineyard in New Jersey, and Cheryl Newberry, a prayer leader in Idaho who represents both the Heartland and Reformation Prayer Networks.
The journey originated from directives received in prayer concerning removing a ancient "blot" from the center of Idaho in the Sawtooth Wilderness. We believed that this was a blot created by hatred, and reinforced by war, broken covenants, racial prejudice, and idolatry. There was further instruction to pray for the Salmon and Owyhee Rivers and for the source of the Snake River in Yellowstone National Park. We also believed we were to pray on Indian Land for the Shoshones in Eastern Idaho, and on the Nez Perce and Duck Valley Indian Reservations. Our itinerary included Jackson WY, Yellowstone National Park, Tendoy ID, Salmon ID, Stanley ID, Riggins ID, Copperville ID, Kamiah ID (Nez Perce Indian Reservation), Owyhee OR, Garden City ID, Owyhee NV (Duck Valley Indian Rerservation), and Wild Horse Reservoir NV.
Yellowstone Canyon
We prayed here for healing in the depth of the earth. This has been a location for previous earthquakes, and the site for worship of elemental spirits by the Sheepeater Indians.
Salmon River at Stanley ID
Near the source of the Salmon River in the heart of the Sawtooth Wilderness in Idaho, we prayed for the release of the River of Life.
Eagle near Yellow Pine ID
We prayed for the reversal of the curse against the mining communities in the heart of Idaho, which became enclaves of prejudice in the late 1800s and early 1900s, and today are very depressed places to live.
Heart of the Monster, Nez Perce, ID
This was the location where by legend the Nez Perce Indians originated. The legendary character Coyote cut the heart out of a monster, which then became this hill, and the droplets of blood became the tribe. We prayed that this tribe, which is one of the few who occupies part of the original land, would fulfill their redemptive purpose on the earth.
Worship at Owyhee River
We stopped at the New Life Revival Center Full Gospel Church on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation which lays in both Idaho and Nevada.. We worshipped, prayed, and repented along with the pastor and his wife and elders at their baptism site on the Owyhee River.
LA Basin 2014
The primary purpose of this initiative was to follow the instruction of the Lord to pray prior to February all around the LA basin prayers of repentance and for healing of the earth to prevent the destruction from a possible earthquake. The second purpose was to pray for the birthing of a new move of God in Southern California. This would fulfill the 100-year prophecies of William Seymour and Maria Woodworth-Etter, and many more recent prophecies.
A 4-person team from Shore Vineyard Church in South Toms River, New Jersey, joined with a number of intercessors from the Los Angeles area. We prayed at 16 locations over a 5-day period - January 13-17 2014.
An important part of the journey was the opportunity to pray with representatives of the Gabrielino Tongva, the original inhabitants of the LA Basin.
LA Basin Prayer Locations
We prayed at the following locations:
1 - Venice Beach
2 - Beverly Hills - Electric Fountain
3 - West Hollywood - Radiance International
4 - Northridge - Porter Ridge Park
5 - Los Angeles - Azusa Street
6 - San Gabriel Mission
7 - El Monte -Gabrielino Tongva Tribal Council
8 - Hollywood Sign
9 - Signal Park - Hilltop Park
10 - Pasadena - Slab at Mott Auditorium
11 - Pasadena International House of Prayer
12 - Burbank - Johnny Carson Park
13 - Angelus Temple
14 - San Bernardino - Future William Seymour College
15 - Arrowhead Springs
16 - San Bernardino- Living Faith Full Gospel Church
Venice Beach Skateboarder at Sunset
Venice Beach represents Los Angeles in a raw form. From one standpoint it is a festival of exhibitionists - from another, it is where people come earnestly showing their talents in order to be noticed and make their way in the world. This is a real community that God has already been changing in the last ten years! We prayed here for God to continue the transformation and for the church to learn how to cooperate. We also prayed repentance and for the healing of the earth at this location!
Electric fountain image of Tongva man praying
This fountain at the corner of Santa Monica and Wilshire in Beverly Hills is a significant location. As perhaps the first electrically powered water fountain in the world, it portrays a Gabrielino Tongva man praying for rain. Restored in 2000 after 20 years of disuse, the fountain has many tiles that portray the early history of California from a Tongva point of view. So both the original fountain and its restoration represent an honoring of the First Nations people.
We prayed here to set our own prayers for the LA Basin in order, praying for the original occupants of the land to experience the fullness of God's plan and purpose for them, and that they would be restored to a place of honor and prominence in the world.
Jonathan and Sharon Ngai at Radiance International
Radiance International, led by Jonathan and Sharon Ngai, is many things to the extended Hollywood entertainment industry - a house of prayer, church, community, and now a recording studio. It's a place of life and light. Here we prayed together and the Ngai's prayed for our team to accomplish its purpose in the region.
Northridge Overlooking LA Basin
Northridge is in the heart of the San Fernando valley. This is the location of two of the larger earthquakes in the last 50 years, the 1971 Sylmar quake and the 1994 Northridge. It's also the the place where the pornography industry has thrived. The park where we chose to pray, Porter Ridge, was also famous as the backdrop of the bicycle scene from the movie E.T.
We prayed here for the dismantling of the demonic and human structures which support pornography and human trafficking. Then, using the Lord's Supper, we prayed for the reconciilation and healing of the land both in the valley and in the whole LA basin.
Prayer at Azusa Street / Little Tokyo
We were gathered at the site of 312 Azusa Street, where the Pentecostal Outpouring began in 1906. Now, it's a bricked over plaza, part of the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in what is called the Little Tokyo section of downtown Los Angeles. We were with our friend Tom Grode, who lives at the Rescue Mission in Skid Row in order to be at the gate of Azusa Street for the fulfillment of the 100 year prophecy of the greater outpouring.
And God had already gathered two of his friends to be their two - Mark Smith and Rudy Flowers, both saved from drugs and alcohol in Skid Row, now saving others. They meet at this plaza to pray twice a week and only fairly recently found out about what happened here in 1906 and about the prophecy, which they now pray to see fulfilled. And they represent the very communities we believe where God will show up - among African-Americans, Asians, and Hispanic, and all who are willing to say yes to him.
San Gabriel Mission Church
This mission church was founded in 1771 and became the key mission church in early California history. It was also the pivotal place for the Gabrielino Tongva tribe to be introduced to Western life. Here they became Christians, worked as laborers for the Spanish, and basically changed their way of life. There is a gravesite at the mission where over 6,000 were buried.
Our experience praying in the mission church was the sense that the Tongva are still somewhat controlled by the colonial introduction to Christianity. Our prayers were for the Tongva people to be completely free throughout the Los Angeles area.
Gabrielino Tongva Bible Study
We had the joy of being invited to a bible study conducted at the Gabrielino Tongva Tribal Council building in El Monte. This Bible Study is conducted by Julia Bogany, who also works as the tribe's cultural affairs director. Here she is on the right along with Chief Anthony Morales, Diana Barragan and another woman.
We were treated with great hospitality by the bible study group and the tribe, given Indian Bibles, bead necklaces, and baskets of shells, acorns, and fragrant sage. In turn, our teammate Jim Spaloss gave the Tongva glass jewelry he had made in the form of an acord, a shell, and a tortoise, which were each meaningful.
We were also able to deliver a prophetic vision for Chief Anthony and another one for Julia.
Hollywood Sign
The picture is of Jim Spaloss praying in front of the Hollywood Sign in the Hollywood Hills. We prayed here for the complete transformation of the entertainment industry, as well as offering repentance for the poor values that are consistently transmitted from here around the world. We also prayed for the healing of the earth through the reconciilation of all men to God through Jesus.
Signal Hill - Tammy Dao ministering to Ethiopian young women
We prayed at Signal Hill, a community surrounded by Long Beach. From this hill there is a great view of the southern areas of Los Angeles County. We prayed in every direction.
This is a significant gathering place. One of our team arriving early met two men who both came there to pray on their lunch hour. Then, while we were praying, we heard girls singing, and met 6 girls from Ethiopia who were singing praise songs.
The Long Beach area is a birthing place within Los Angeles. One of the things being birthed is prayer. Tammy Dao leads the Love House of Prayer, and is shown in the photo ministering to the Ethiopian girls.
Pastor Louis Barragan anointed the hill with oil. The hill itself is signficant in yet another way. It sits on top of a city reservoir, and it also is dotted with oil wells. There is a sculpture at the top depicting a rising column of oil and water, which we felt signified spiritual renewal.
Angelus Temple
Angelus Temple was built by Aimee Semple McPherson in the 1920s as an outgrowth of the Pentecotal Outpouring. She was the most famous person in America for 20 years, as she carried the Gospel around the nation. This church, which also housed a Bible School and seated 5,000 people, has since been renovated and is connected with the LA Dream Center, a ministry led by Matthew Barnett.
We prayed here that Christian leaders would fulfill great dreams, and that women leaders would be raised up in today's church.
San Bernardino - Future William Seymour College
Our friend Julia has a friend Candace who is friends with the great grand-daughter of William Seymour. Candace also has a vision to build a 4-year college for Christians to be prepared to spread the Pentecostal Gospel like William Seymour.
Here we are laying our hands on a building in downtown San Bernardino where Bishop Candace felt the Lord had led her for the school. We are believing that the Lord will release this property for the Lord's use.
Arrowhead Springs
We were parked outside the gate of the Arrowhead Springs resort, a property owned by Campus Crusade for Christ. This picture shows the formation on the mountain that gives it the name. There is also a hot springs, and the hotels have grown around the spa. Three previous hotels were built at this location but each burned down. Campus Crusade is now trying to sell the property, and the city of San Bernardino would like to purchase it.
As we prayed outside the property, we wondered what the root of the curse was. A local man drove by and suggested that it may have been an Indian curse. In 1866, Indian raiders killed a few settlers in the area, and then the army systematically wiped out the local Serrano tribe that lived in the mountains. It seems likely that a curse was placed on the land by the Indians.
Because we had a First Nations person with our team, we enacted a repentance and forgiveness. On behalf of the Indian people, our friend Julia removed the curse. After that we were able to pray for an open heaven over San Bernardino and for the Campus Crusade property. We also celebrated communion and prayed for the healing of the earth using Psalm 60.
Pastor Rachell Bell at Living Faith Full Gospel Church in San Bernardino
Pastor Rachell asked our team to come back and pray at her church, which we did. We believe that she and her church will be restored to glory as in the former years.
Helen Kuehl pointing the way
On our final night in LA, we met with Helen Kuehl, Louis and Diana Barragan, and our New Jersey team for dinner and debriefing. We declared our prayer initiative a success. Pastor Louis and his wife Diana gave us gifts to recognize our service. In turn,we recognize with all of the Southern California intercessors the great service they performed for us and for the Lord - especially Helen Kuehl, Louis and Diana Barragan, Tom Grode, Vern and Cheryl Matheson, Jonathan and Sharon Ngai, Tammy Dao, and Bonnie Shaffer. We will always be grateful.
Revival Jumpstart USA 2015
Back in July 2013 on the way home from out prayer journey in Idaho and visiting family in California, I received a message from the Lord. "The nation is weak, and I wan to bring a fresh revival. I want you to place prayer transmitters in the land at six locations that I will show you. When you activate these boxes from the House of Prayer they will magnify prayers of revival for your nation". I saw them as boxes like the Ark of the Covenant that would be filled with items the Lord showed me for each location. There were six locations - the farthest points northeast, southeast, southwest, and northwest, and the farthest points north and south in the center of the nation. We purchased simple wooden boxes and our friend Ria Mignano painted them as the Lord showed her. We actually carries out this journey September 9-17 and activated the transmitters on 9/19.
Revival Jumpstart USA Transmitter Locations
We placed prayer transmitters at 6 locations:
- Key Largo Florida- Garden Cove
- Brownsville Texas - Sabal Palm Grove Sanctuary
- San Diego California - Border Field Park
- Cape Flattery Washington - Makah Indian Reservation
- Angle Inlet Minnesota - Red Lake Indian Reservation
- Quoddy Head Maine - Quoddy Head State Par
Inside of Transmitter Box
The transmitter box for each location had specific contents. Each held a Bible, communion elements, anointing oil, communion elements, and stones from the Toms River. Other contents were dependent on the location.
Each transmitter box has a different image drawn or painted. This one is similar to the Ark of the Covenant.
Transmitter 1 - Key Largo Florida
The first transmitter box was planted in Key Largo within sight of Garden Cove and the John Pennencamp Coral Reef.
Transmitter 2 - Brownsville Texas
The second transmitter was placed in Brownsville Texas overlooking the Rio Grande River in the Sabal Palm Grove Sanctuary
Transmitter 3 - San Diego California
The third prayer transmitter was placed in Border Field State Park in San Diego within sight of the Mexican border.
Transmitter 4 - Cape Flattery Washington
This transmitter was placed on the farthest west-northwest location in the midst of a rain forest in the Makah Indian Reservation overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Transmitter 5 - Angle Inlet Minnesota
The fifth prayer transmitter was placed in the woods of Angle Inlet as part of the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Angle Inlet is the farthest north area of the continental United States and you have to travel through Canada to get to it.
Transmitter 6 - Quoddy Head Maine
The sixth transmitter was placed in Quoddy Head State Park overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
Southwest Indian Tribes 2018
The Assignment
We received this assignment in 2017 about one year before we actually conducted this prayer journey. God was calling us to go to the Indian nations of the Southwest and lift them up. We had been before in September 2001 praying for the Indian nations of the Four Corners. This time our goal was to pray for the land affected by and rooted in the highly developed civilizations between 500-1500 AD – namely the Hohokam, Mogollon, and the Anasazi – those who rose from pit houses to cliff dwellers, from scattered villages to large cities – and then moved back to pueblo villages to form the current tribes of the region.
The Lord told us:
- All tribes in the earth seek to find their relevance in their origin and in the gods they believed were their guardians. So they always appease and try to please, but those guides are never pleased. You are to bring peace to that layer of their being. Bring them the reconciliation of my blood, and the peace of the Great Spirit. The present tribes are to know the chief above all chiefs, the guide beyond all guides, the spirit who rules all spirits. Bring their worship, bring their dancing, bring their warrior spirit, bring their love with all creation. These things are their birthright and the very means of knowing their God. Jesus does not belong to the white man, the European – he is theirs! You are to bless them into their calling. The red man is respected around the earth and is the carrier of the message of God. There also is a message of reconciliation. Do not be defined by the white man. The one who enslaved you defines you. You cease being a slave by forgiving.
There were two other words the Lord gave us:
- In the West it will be more of a lifting up. There has been an unfair judgment against the ancient Indians which needs to be broken off of them and their modern descendants. There are two main places in southern Arizona and one main place in southern New Mexico. You will not need to go to Mexico. Then there are two places in Northern New Mexico. Also go to Chaco Canyon and remove the Anasazi curse from the land.
- I am passionate about all of my tribes on the earth. This will be a cleansing journey. You are to release the river of life, and you will find that soon after, the Salt and the Gila River will flow with more water than has been seen in years. Bless the land and the peoples of the land. They do not know why life has been so hard. Also you will receive blessing from the revival I am pouring out now in Southern Arizona. Do not hesitate to go to a revival church.
Background
The Southwest of the US has been populated for thousands of years. Dwellings, bones, implements, and artwork indicate that several great cultures dominated this area between 500 BC and around 1400 AD. These cultures, the Anasazi, Hohokam, and Mogollon (pronounced Mo-go-yone), developed roughly in parallel, traded with and influenced each other, and followed roughly the same cultural development path. Smaller groupings such as the Salado developed in the spaces in between the larger cultures. They all began as hunter-gatherers, learned agriculture and developed pit houses dug in the earth, advanced to sophisticated cities with multistory pueblos, often built in caves or under protective cliffs. They developed complex cities, innovated use of canals for irrigation, developed secret societies, sought to control nature through religious rituals, developed competitive ball games. They all migrated away due to some combination of environmental and societal issues, and climate change.
Many of the existing tribes of the area appear to be the greatgrandchildren and inheritors of the ancient cultures. The O’odham tribes of Phoenix and south are descendants of the Hohokam (in fact “Hohokam” is an O’odham word. The Hopi and Pueblo tribes of northern Arizona and New Mexico are descended from the Anasazi. The Zuni tribe appear to be descended from the Mogollon. Other tribes such as the Navajo and Apache moved in to the same regions from farther north but are spiritually influenced by the ancients. In many cases the modern tribes are located in the same area as the ruins from the ancient tribes. Many of their religious and cultural mores clearly relate to those of the ancient ones.
Plan
- Pray at central sites for each of the Hohokam, Mogollon, Hohokam, Anasazi, and Salado cultures.
- Pray at current tribe locations that are in proximity of the ancient sites
- Specifically pray at Taos because it is a central New Age culture site
- At every location, we will pray in accordance with what has already been shown us and what is revealed onsite
- Where possible we will meet with local people and speak to them a word of faith.
- We will bring reconciliation through the body and blood of our Lord in each place.
Southwest Indian Tribe Prayer Locations in Arizona and New Mexico
Salt and Gila Rivers Meridian
Rivers are the source of life, especially in the desert. Generally these rivers are barely flowing, but Hurricane Rosa brought the wettest October on record to this part of Arizona. We prayed at this location because the meridian marked at the point of confluence is where all addresses in Phoenix are measured from. We prayed that these rivers would always be flowing and that they would bring revival to the Southwest and the Indian nations.
Fountain of Life Christian Fellowship
We attended Fountain of Life Christian Fellowship on our first night in the area because Apostle Chuck Pierce was visiting. And when Chuck visits an area, he is sure to prophesy what God wants to do in that area to its full capacity. It was important for us to be there because our job was to be like an arrow to help fulfill the words God spoke through Chuck.
Desert House of Prayer (near Tucson)
This house of prayer is a place for solitude and contemplation near Tucson and adjacent to the Saguaro Cactus National Park. Outside you are surrounded by the silent but embracing desert. Inside you may find others but they are seeking God. In this beautiful environment we shared communion together and with the land.
Tohono O'odham Culture Center and Museum
We really loved what this tribe said about themselves as depicted at the museum. They are lovers of God. They trust him to watch over them. They are peace loving. They did have some spiritual strongholds because of things they worship - like Mt Bobaquivari. So we celebrated communion again and prayed for God’s blessing over this tribe.
Prepare the Way International Church
Here we met with Kay Winters, who along with husband Bob, pastors a unique church dedicated to regional and national revival. Kay was uniquely qualified to help us because she understands the Indian history and culture and was on good terms with all of the tribes we would be visiting. Thus, she was able to prepare us for what we would find and help speak into our purpose. This was a very valuable visit.
Chapel of the Holy Cross Sedona
We drove north to the town of Sedona known both for its red-hued rock nature setting and its occult practices and worship. We headed straight for the Catholic shrine known as the Chapel of the Cross built on a mountainside. In it is a powerful 40 foot high depiction of Jesus crucified on the cross. Because of a word from an intercessor friend, we prayed over all of Sedona from this place, believing that peace would descend over all of the valley and high places. We celebrated communion and shared it with the land.
Grand Canyon South Rim
When we arrived at the south rim of the Grand Canyon, the weather had turned windy and cold. Nonetheless, as always, the canyon was spectacular. We headed east along the canyon and prayed over it and several different places. We prayed for all tribes who came from this place, as many tribes have origin stories that start here. We prayed especially for the Hualapai and the Yavasupai tribes to find a unity as they both make their home in the canyon land and have experienced some division.
Little Colorado River at Cameron Trading Post
We spent the night at the Cameron Trading Post and saw the next morning that we were right on the Little Colorado River, which meets the Colorado in the canyon. We prayed for the entire river system of the southwest for peace and life. We celebrated our Sunday service here. An intercessor friend told us that she heard from the Lord that our intercession at the Grand Canyon the night before had deactivated the spirit responsible for the Las Vegas mass shooting the year before. Wow!
Walpi Village - Hopi Nation - Arizona
This is a photo from Walpi, the next village over from Sichomovi on First Mesa in the Hopi Nation, the village we visited, which looks very similar. In this village, even though it was a Sunday, we stopped at a house with an "art for sale" sign. We spent about an hour with the family and bought some of their art. They told us about all of the problems their family and their people experienced. Then they showed us artwork depicting the gods they worship (who lead them into these issues). We were able to pray with the family and invite Jesus into their house. The mother of the house used to attend the local Baptist church but had stopped going. After we left this family, we found the Baptist church just after service was over, told the pastor about this woman and her family, and he assured us he would visit them.
Window Rock - Navajo Nation - Arizona
The Navajo Nation is the largest Indian reservation in the US. Window Rock is its capital. And the rock wall with a hole in it is the symbol of Window Rock. We were told by Kay Winters that the Spirit is moving powerfully in parts of this tribe, so we prayed for the Lord to move through the whole Navajo Nation.
Pueblo Bonito - Chaco Canyon National Historical Park - New Mexico
This was the Washington DC of the ancient Pueblo culture a thousand years ago. It was their ceremonial capital but also had both permanent and transition housing perhaps like a hotel. Religious ceremonies were conducted here. All of the current Pueblo tribes in New Mexico and the Hopis in Arizona trace their roots here. The Navajos also consider it important. So it’s a key place in the network of indigenous people and their worship. Here is what our teammate Aaron prayed in Chaco Canyon:
. God would turn the original purpose of this place to his purposes.
.. The unity of cultures coming together will be used by our God who calls for unity.
.. Though there are no more inhabitants, change the worship and celebration tied to here and from here. Turn it away from false gods and turn it to you, God.
.. The practices, accomplishments, and mistakes would be remembered. The good retained, and the bad shaken off.
. God, we invite you here to establish a staging ground for your armies.
.. Send your armies on the roads that connect this place to the surrounding peoples and tribes
.. Drive off any spirits from here that continue to hold these people in bondage.
Taos Pueblo - New Mexico
Taos is 1000 years old. It’s 1000 years old and the traditions have stayed strong. Parts of the Pueblo are 5 stories high. It’s an extensive village. Most families make their living as artisans, making jewelry, pottery, weaving, dolls, furniture. They have their shops right there in the Pueblo. We enjoyed talking to the artisans. Our prayers here focused on asking Father to give them a broader more satisfying life.
Albuquerque Baloon Festival
As we prayed for Albuquerque, the balloons came over the horizon. We did not time our trip to see the balloons but we felt that the balloons represented the freeing of the Indian nations that we were praying for and achieving by praying in Arizona and New Mexico.
Acoma Pueblo - Sky City
Acoma Pueblo has a casino but it is famous for its Sky City - the primary place for the pueblo’s ceremonies is on top of a butte 350 feet above the surrounding area. By the time we got to the Cultural Center, Darlene and I were too short of breath and feeling too poorly to go on the tour, but Aaron and Russ were willing to go. They learned a lot of history and other information about these resilient people. Once the guys had rejoined us we celebrated communion in the parking lot of the Cultural Center, led by Russ. We repented for the injustices done to these people for many years by Spanish conquerors, who murdered many and forced the people to build churches on top of their kivas (native worship structures). Up to 75% of the Pueblo people are Catholic but it’s mixed with native idol worship. We prayed for this people to come to a living faith in a loving God. We love these Acoma people, whose community practices would be a perfect wineskin for the practice of New Testament Christianity.
Darlene woke from a dream in which I was prophesying that three Indian men would die if not rescued from their drug addiction. We prayed for deliverance for these man. But then we prayed for the entire Acoma tribe, indeed all the Pueblo tribes to be delivered. I said that they need to be lifted free of idolatry, which we had authority to do by virtue of the New Covenant in Jesus’ body and blood which we have been receiving on behalf of the people wherever we’ve gone. It’s like jacking up a car to remove a flat tire - you can change the tire if the weight is born by the jack. You can remove the sin if the weight of idolatry is taken by Jesus. We prayed for all the generational iniquity to be removed. Then we sang Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble right there in McDonalds.
As we drove down the road we passed the Zuni Pueblo which we had intended to visit after the Hopis but couldn’t because of time. So we prayed for and blessed the Zunis.
Painted Desert Arizona
Because two of us had trouble with the altitude we actually headed back towards Phoenix early, which took us through the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. This area is simply beautiful.
Pueblo Grande Museum - Phoenix
This museum preserves the pueblo way of life from 1000 years earlier and presents an advanced culture. Here we prayed for the healing of the land and the raising up of all of the cultures of the southwest.
Camelback Mountain near Phoenix
I had found out also that the local tribes all consider Camelback Mountain as a sacred place, so this is where we went next. We parked in Echo Canyon on the side of the mountain. We made declarations here that the mountain of the Lord would be above all other mountains and that the Indian Nations will be among the nations drawn to him. (Isaiah 2). We celebrated communion and Aaron and Russ carried the elements up the side of the mountain and deposited them on the mountainside. We felt this was the high place to conclude our journey.
